  1. It is an expensive hobby. The computer and hard drives i had lying around. The speaker i got from work.. Work was getting rid of it.

It was about $100 in wood. probably $100 for the buttons, but they are light up ones so you can get them cheaper. The player 1 and 2 joystick were $50 each i think, but they are programmable. Player 3 and 4 are normal joysticks, and they are like $10 i think. The trackball was $50 i think. I've probably spent about $500 or so so far. You could probably do it for less, or build a smaller bar top type cab.

My dad got the street fighter cab from an arcade that was going out of business for like $100 a long time ago.
  2. Ok, so I have my arcade cabinet almost done. I just need to put the door on the front panel, order my controller for the lights, do a little touch up painting, and get my light guns. I do want to put some artwork on it, but I'm not that artsy, so I'm not sure how i'll get that done. I'm also getting light guns. 8)

Here it is with the old Star Wars game running.

    .

The screen can rotate, and the games are set to auto rotate between landscape and portrait. Here is Pac-Man in portrait mode.

Kind of a dark pic, but you can see the layout of the buttons. All of the buttons light up except for the green and yellow ones. They will be changed later. I have 4 player capability.

Here is the inside. I do have the motherboard, and hard drive cage on a sliding drawer that i can pull out for easy maintenance.

All my storage space. I do have a little bit of cleaning left to do. I have 5 drives in the cage, and 4 external drives.

One day i'll have everything sorted and can then actually play games!

As a bonus… my Street Fighter II cab, and cat!

    Here it is turned on.

Ohh i have to get a pic of the wiring and inside of the top. I'll get that soon.

Let me know what you guys think!
  3. Ambard is a well respected user who has been around for a long time. I highly doubt he would be posting any sort of virus, or be doing anything shady.

The only thing brought up with him is why would he need billing information, but as he pointed out it is just the way the shopping software he uses is built. You can put in bogus information and still receive his client.
  4. Welcome back Ambard… glad to see you are still around!

Out of curiosity... what is the purpose of having people put in their billing info if you are expecting people to put in random information? What are you planning on doing with the information?
  5. if anyone is interested here is a small update to my cabinet. i have the base finished. I just need to mount the innards. Next i'll be working on the actual control panel part itself.

I installed inside walls, and a floor to make it look nicer. Also it worked out perfectly so i can install a slide rail to slide my computer in and out of the cabinet easily.

    Top down look

I filled in all the cracks made from my wobbly hand cutting with the jigsaw. I also filled in my screw holes so it looks flush.

Here is the base painted black. It is the same paint i used to paing my Street Fighter cabinet.

I cut two holes out in the back to attach fans. I'll have intake at the bottom, and exhaust at the top.

    ![](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y249/gwendalinmaabus/arcade%20table/20160926_185937_zpsmcgfryjz.jpg)

Here is the front. The slot at the top is for a usb hub so i can attach a keyboard and mouse if needed, and to attach light guns for shooting arcade games.

Here is the side of the base. there is still some white showing in this pic, but I did get all of it painted.

Now to build the control panel!!!! ;D
  6. It's HEAVY! it is 3/4 in MDF board. I had to have the home depot guys load it in a truck for me. I dont have the control panel attached yet, and right now I can carry it if someone helps me, but at least it's not going anywhere when you play on it. It's not meant to be mobile, but i am thinking maybe i'll put caster wheels on it so i can move it if needed, but it might make it weird, or move around when playing.

LOL Marsh, this should have only taken a week… it's been going on a month now building it. :P
  7. So here is a pond that I built. I've had the pond liner forever, but never really did anything nice with it.

My pump is just a small fountain pump so it doesnt give a lot of pressure to make my waterfall that big, but it's still pretty nice.

Not sure if this is at dusk, or the flash was really bright on the camera.

Here is one of my turtles poking his head out from his brick cave. I got them in china town, when they were babies… they were like the size of a half dollar coin. Now they are about a foot long and half a foot wide. Unfortunately they hide all day, and I never get to see them.

  8. Ok so my arcade table that I posted earlier finally broke. I ended up taking too much support out of the table and since it was cheap Ikea furniture it collapsed on itself.

So now I'm starting on a new project. I am building a pedestal arcade cabinet. Im going to have a tv mounted on my wall and you stand at the pedestal to play the games. It is not finished yet, but i'll get pics of it when I'm fully done. For now here is the build process.

I cut all of the wood with a jig saw. I'm pretty impressed with how well it came out considering a jig saw is a squirrely saw.
It will kind of look like a tank, and it's built like one too.

Sorry for the large pics… i usually use spoilers, but i was too lazy this time.

Here is the inside of one of the "tank" tread feet things.

I did finally get the feet finished. I just need to put the back on the center part, and build the control panel part.
When it is done it will look similar to this.

  9. I've had access to the backups of the site for what 8 years or so now? Not once has it ever crossed my mind to make a backup and take them. I could have done it to Marsh, especially Amish, and Link when the site changed hands, but my core character will not allow me to directly hurt someone like that.

I do fault the owner for trusting someone like CiCi. The brief interactions i had seen of her were enough to make me want to stay far away from her… but shifting the blame and saying it is mostly Link's fault is stupid. If we were roommates and I left my TV in the front room and you stole it, is that my fault? NO!!!! there is a trust between you and I that I should not have to worry about something like that. Yes, the permissions should have been set differently, but she was supposedly his friend and screwed him over. I'm not technically his friend, I dont talk to him outside the forum, but I would never do something like that to him... even if he somehow screwed me over on the site. I would just tell him to F off, and leave the site.

And Grow just to be clear, I'm not attacking you or your thoughts.
  10. Grow that's what she told you. She can't be trusted, and she has shown that multiple times.

hey guys, i stole your crap…. aww geeze... i screwed up i'm sowwiez... I'll save it for later... I mean i deleted it!

What she did is not a mistake... Me banning someone because I was personally mad at someone for no reason is a mistake. Befriending someone and stealing their stuff when they trust you is not a mistake, that is poor character.

She was an annoying bitch in the day, now she is an annoying thieving bitch! Good riddance.

    ![](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y249/gwendalinmaabus/Eclipse/Eclipse.jpg)
Yay i get to bring out my pics again!
  12. I thought she did something during the Amish days, or maybe it was even with marsh, but if i remember correctly she did get banned for something… i think it was just being annoying.

What is wrong with people. If you dont like something just leave... why do you have to be an ass hat, and ruin other people's work. Just move on.

what is the point in taking the database and site. I dont see how opening a direct eclipse clone would draw people to it. Now everyone knows she stole the site... why would you want to go somewhere with someone that is that dishonest. If anything open your own site and poach users, like what happened with Amish, but there is no reason to steal the actual site.
  13. Wow… Isn't Yuko CiCi?

I've always questioned some of the choices about the management team, but I figured they were friends, and i was just being my normal territorial self.

    What a bitch!
