  1. > Ignore the tiles look at the mappingā€¦ I did, I said it looks alright and that I've definitely saw worst.
  2. Me personally, I don't really like the tiles. Just not my style, its aight. Def seen worst!
  3. Alright, so I've been trying to use Res Hacker, but it keeps say the .exe files arn't win32 programs. Any ideas there?
  4. Appreciate it fellers! Really do!
  5. Figured I'd show this off. This is my Les Paul guitar I made in my Computer Aided Drafting and Design class. I didn't have all the material I used to render it, so its missing a couple spots(like the fret inlays) I made most of it in Autodesk Inventor, and ported it over to 3ds Max to finish her up. And the reason you see palm trees is because I needed something for it to reflect off of. But yeah, I made this my second year in CAD. Probably my favorite piece of work. I don't remember how long it took to make, but I know it was a good 40 or more hours. I'll have to try and find some more of my work and show yall. I got alot of mechanical parts, and a few off the wall thingsā€¦like a tank haha! Anyways, thanks for looking fellers. [attachment=448:LesPaul3dsmaxrender.jpg] Of course, this also has all the screws, pickups, holes for the strings, they're all twisted on the tuners(like a real guitar) basically, EVERYTHING on the guitar, I made and put in piece by piece, part by part. If anyone has every messed with Inventor, they know how big of a pain in the ass it can be. I used 3ds max for a couple pieces, mostly for coloring and rendering though.
  6. Yeah, I've been directed to that by DMF. Not sure how to use it though, I've never tried. Will it convert the data.exe back to images like bitmap or whatever so I can actually edit them and put new sprites, tiles..etc into my client?
  7. > You need to be more elaborate on the error. What does it highlight upon error? Still don't know why it was doing it, but I set my computer back a few hours and it works fine. I'll have to find out why to be sure not to do it again though.
  8. Out of the blue today my client started giving me different ModClientTCP errors. I know one of these was error 5, can't remember the others. Any ideas here? Can't even get in game now.
  9. I figured part of it out(I think) but yeah, its compressed but I think its decrypted also. I'm not too familiar with decryption or anything, but would that save it as something like data1.exe? I reckon it did decom, after I did it I started getting all kinds of errors and such loading the client, so I gotta go to by back up >.> but one the folder I have with the client source when I click on the data.exe files, it opens the command prompt on windows and closes real fast.
  10. I've got some files from an old game I'm going to try and work some on a bring back. I'm gonna keep in short, graphics are compressed. So you can't A)Steal and B)Save space They're all in a .exe form(so really the decom COULD have worked, just can't tell) can't open it, gives me an error about parameters So I go into the source code of the compress/decompress file. I try to see whats up, and run it that way to test it out. Gives me another error at a sub. You'll have to give me a minute, all my programming stuff is on another computer so I have to get the errors off that one. But if I can't get it to work, is there any other way to do it? Again, I'll post the errors here soon so any help I get can be specific. **And I don't know why I put this here, I did that on straight up accident. Meant to go in off-topic
  11. Ok thanks guys, maybe this will help out anybody that wants to help. The game I've got this idea from uses this in their BIG sprite files, and mapping tiles. Its probably in their a couple places. I've seen PARTS of the code before, I know the item editor would be have check box, chkAURA or whatever I was to call it. Then the code and the slash command of course would be in that file. But the sprite is animated. Like those water tiles, where it switches from one to the other. So its like a big sprite added to your sprite but is animated. I dunno, I know it would probably be relatively easy for someone to do it, if I could just explain it correctly. Again, thank y'all, I'll go digging around those files and see whats up. If anyone thinks they could help me out, I can send you the sprites, and show you what I mean. I'm in the process of animating them anyways, so maybe it'll give someone a clearer picture of what I'm talking about.
  12. > First, you'd have to write a particle engine or find one to use with Dx8/VB6\. Second, you'd have to create the particle effect the engine would render. Third, you'd have to get the particle engine emitting at the location of the sprite or other target object on a certain event. > > Was that helpful enough for you? You have a long way to go. See the reason I'm asking is I've seen it done on a konfuze engine before. Thought it was cool, so I wanted to try and figure it out. Oh and believe me, the guy who did this didn't know anything besides VB6
  13. I've already said I was going to give it a try again. I'm just asking for a little help. Heck, someone could even break it down and explain it for me like a tutorial if they'd like, I know I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to learn man, just asking for some help in this general area.
  14. So I've received a game from an old friend who use to run it, (so old its ran with a Konfuze engine). I'm gonna try to teach myself to program from it, but I needed a little help first. Say I wanted to add an effect to items, which the game already has just no special effects are actually added in. But I want a different one, where it just has a little check box on the item creation screen, where some items can use it and some can't. Heres an example, I want the command to be /flames with this item equipped, and my sprite for it would go AROUND the player(like consuming them, if that's how you can visualize it) Thanks for any help. I'm not good with programming, and I never have been. I tried when I was younger, but I guess with a better attention span I might try again. *And sorry, I think this is in the wrong forum. Thats my bad. I've found how to add the /command, but not with the effects I'm thinking. Again, my B for it being in the wrong place. Thanks in advanced fellers
