  3. Me and my friend have been working on a game for awhile now (I'm the pixel artist, he's the coder), but he hasn't made much progress since he's still learning how to code. So I've been stockpiling graphic resources for a good 4 years, and working on my technique. Thought i'd come visit the eclipse forums again and get some constructive criticism and hopefully improve something.     Need assistance.

    I downloaded dragon eclipse 2.0 today and went to edit the client. After changing the modconstants (items, npc, and maps ammount) i went to compile the client and i got an error: "can't find project or library." it then directs me to modgraphics and highlights D3DFMT_R5G6B5\. Not sure what to do to fix this. (edit) nevermind, i figured it out. Please lock this thread.

  6. Hey, I have been having this issue for a long time now, but i chose to ignore it since i was the only person working on my game. Now that i got a few friends helping out i think it's time to figure out whats going on. the first issue i'm having is after a midi loops 1 or 2 times the quality of the midi starts to plummet. it seems a few of the tracks used in the midi just vanish and leave me with only a drum type beat. this happens with almost all my midis if i just wait long enough. the second issue i have is usually when editing a map. when i preview a midi in the map editor properties it starts playing like normal… except sometimes it doesn't stop playing when i click stop and if i try to preview another midi they overlap and by the time this bug happens turning off the music doesn't work and the only way to get rid of the overlapping midi is to exit the client completely I've tested this with my friends connecting, and they have the same issues, so it's not just me. Help would be appreciated xD
  7. the slide attribute practically teleports my character to the destination, i want him to travel to the destination at the speed of walk speed or maybe slightly faster. not instant
  8. Hello, I'm trying to figure out a way to make my player to fall off a cliff when i get to a specific tile on the edge of the cliff. I would need a scripted tile so that when i step on it, the player's walking animation and direction is locked, a sound effect is played, and then the player moves downwards according to the amount of tiles specified. When the destination is reached, the player should unlock and be able to move like normal again. If anyone can make and post the codes that i need to replace/insert into the client and sever I would be grateful.

    I realize that it will make the game take longer to load. and the map x,y will differ according to the map… houses will be smaller of course. a desert would be larger. etc.

  17. hey guys, I got an idea from a game i played, where it was an morpg, but it was turn based in the style of old school dragon warrior games. the way it worked was if someone joined your party they would attach to the back of the party leader and form a line behind him, following him until they decided to leave the party. so lets say we had 4 people in the party. you would walk around in a forest or something and then a random battle would initiate and the whole party could participate by selecting there options (attack, item, spell, etc.) and then based on their agility would attack in turns. for starters I'm using EO, and the way i was thinking for the turn based system, is that you would walk around and then based on a random amount of steps you take, you would initiate battle and a window would pop up, taking a monster from the npc database based on the map (the sprite would be replaced with a single frame image) to fight. a lot like the dragon warrior series. also it would be convenient if the system cold have mouse support so that i could click on the attack button in battle and then click on the monster i wish to attack. as for the follow system, some maps (such as towns and safe areas) would not use the follow script, even if in the party, so as to be able to browse and buy at shops and such. also only the party leader could accept quests (guess i'd need the appropriate quest system to go along with my other 2 systems xD) but the quests objective and rewards would be shared amongst the members. I am willing to negotiate a payment if need be, if anyone is up to the task, let me know ^^
  18. 95% of these sprites are ripped from dragon warrior 3 for game boy color by me.
