Ok ive been steadily working on custom graphics for my eclipse project entitled "Lands Of Orderia". For me to acheive some of the gameplay aspects I was hoping to implement I am going to need a basic programmer to continue my works. Programming simple features such as a friends list, multiple item drops for npcs, additional tools for resources ex. Callapar, the land of the Deppens, which are a mini Ogre tribe who worship the elaphent gods.   This game throws you right into the magical land of Orderia, You start off in Ogre country where the local Ogres started a Small settlement in the woods called Callapar. The ogres beileved that Elaphants were the gods and worshiped them accordingly. Throughout the Forrest community known as Callapar you will see many statues and tributes to these Elaphant gods. Right Now there is 145 items, 40 different magic spells, about 15 different mele skills. Im working on npc's so the land isnt so empty. As of now I have farming, woodcutting, and fishing as the main resource skills. There will be any more, I just need to finish drawing the graphics oriented with them. All trees seen on map are chopable, all fishing areas are fishable, and all gardens with vegatation are able to be gathered. All equipment will be paperdolled, once I come up with a good base sprite for players. Aditional information can be given upon request, I dont want to disclose to much information to the public, this early in development. Any takers?

Yup, adjusting colors is a good method to create contrast. Like Nook said, vegetation shouldn't all be the same green Or it gets challenging to distinguish one from another.

Shit! Almost as good as the original!

Trick is to pixel everything up relatively close to the colors you want, then pull the titleset up in photoshop to tweak the colors/contrast of everything.

Forgot to clarify, those are temp sprites. Annahstas is working on the sprites for the game, they will fit well with the tiles as well as the paper doll. Those should be done relitivley soon. When They are i will post it.

Some more detail, but key is to make it look like the detail is natural on the ground.

Yes I agree, and im working on making more ground details so its less repetitive. Going to add some regular stumps around, a few different flowers for some added color. Theres going to be lots of rivers and ponds and such throughout the forests with docks to fish from ex. going to do a few more types of rocks, some twigs, a few bushes and other vegetation. Hopefully the end product will be well worth the mapping pains. Also I just updated the screenshot for the goblin hideout on page one. Better or worse? Whats everyone thinking? Heres a new addition, the water island type transitions. take a peek.
