  1. This one looks pretty good, good use of tiles.
  2. Wow those are some good graphics!
  3. This is some of the best use of tiles I've seen yet.
  4. Looks good, ummm is the game actually in spainish?
  5. It looks like your making the game I wanted to make, I can't wait to see more.
  6. I was thinking I might try out the game but on the website it says the server is down so I didn't bother to try it.
  7. Well I think you should use your paint programs text button for the names, don't try and write them yourself is just doesn't look good. That's a mistake I made before, trying to write in the words myself thinking it would look more original. Anyway yea it's pretty good, you might want to give the main island some more shape rather than just being a simple circle like shape. The same goes for each of the zones, use a thinner paintbrush and draw in some more detail rather then just having a simple blob like shape. Anyway yea man it looks pretty good, good job.
  8. That's very cool. It has a very clean look to it. It doesn't look cheap or buggy. I don't know if it is, I haven't played it, but it looks nice. Maybe you could make it to where you eat the food and grow stronger. Maybe put some bad guys one there and let em' go to town with the pick axe. Yea I think that would make it a lot better if you could eat the food you grow. Or maybe I am just hungry as I type this…but all things considered, I think you got a very clean very pro looking little game on your hands, nice job.
  9. That's very cool. It's more on the pro side than a lot of other people's stuff. Yes very pro stuff, very nice. I think it needs even more going on though, like more art for the choices in the bottom right corner. The logo needs to really take up most of the whole screen, with the space that's left being filled up with the choices. There is so much dead space taking up the screen, with only small spaces for the logo and the choices, it just ante right. The Rubesoft logo in the beginning looks great, very professional indeed. Over all a very clean professional looking menu that just needs a little adjustment to be perfect.
  10. It's interesting…keep at it.
  11. I'm really digging your little mushrooms and the pointed taller trees. Why not add that level of detail to the grass, and the other objects in your world. I think if you did, it would be one of the better titlesets on this board.
  12. Ok so the yahoo server is pretty much useless. Alright well just checking. Thanks anyway for taking the time to answer. If you guys are having any trouble in the art world, maybe I can help you out just let me know.
  13. Computer wise, all I have left is my laptop, and it’s wireless internet certainly isn’t good for game hosting. However I buy commercial space on a yahoo.com server and haven’t used it for much. I can upload files to the server, but as far as I know there is no way to launch or control an exe file. As far as I know…but maybe there is a way? If I could just upload the game and run the server.exe it would run 24/7 (unless it crashes) which of course would be awesome. Hmmm does anyone know of any ftp style software that allows this sort of remote control? Or perhaps another solution? Ok well I don’t have photoshop right now, since my desktop has stopped working, but I can still draw some pretty cool stuff using simple paint. If you can help me out, maybe I can help you out. Alright thanks for your time… -Shaun
  14. James do you have a copy of VB6? Not the old one now…I mean something that runs on windows vista. Let me know, maybe we can work something out.
  15. The high detail is really cool, got ta give you credit on that.
  16. Ah there were to many bugs, it didn't work out…thank you guys that answered my question. Thank you all for your advice. Also thank you for the info on custom versions, I'll check it out.
  17. I can’t help but notice there’s a whole lot of reinventing the wheel going on here. The games that are further along have features like full screen, projectiles, attack animations, and so on…Also I can’t help but notice that the people who start a brand new game, start with the bare eclipse and painstakingly struggle to add these same features on their own. Why not everybody take the time to merge the features they created into one game engine and post it as the latest version of eclipse? Basically a nice little trade off, they get what you made, but you get what they made. To tell you the truth though, the main feature I would like to see added would be a newer download/setup. That’s honestly the main thing that keeps you from commercializing (or at least getting a huge following of players for) anything that you create with the software. Players don’t like to have to go through a lot of technical steps to play a simple game. They like to just download, install, start. Or even better just load/start in a browser based version. If you tell them _“Yea you have to download this, then download and add that, then go to settings in windows control panel and change this, this, and that, then it might work.”_ They will almost certainly move on to the next game. So what would it take to change that?…and does anyone really care enough to try?
  18. It's very good, the only thing that keeps it from being perfect would be the color of "Digiplex" which I think is a tiny bit to orange rather than gold, kinda has a rusty look you know. Perhaps a softer shade of gold? Something that blends in with the softer light blue. Also the small text needs a new font that again has the modern softer look, maybe with blended edges that are not so blunt against the soft background. Also one last thing as long as we are nitpicking, the "D" digiplex could stand to be stick out a touch further to the left, so maybe a little shift of the whole word over to the left wouldn't hurt if it's not to late eh? Other than that I think it is really cool, stamp it down as your logo every time you wanna say "I made this shit!" and move on. :)
  19. Did you draw that? That is off the chain. You go girl! Awesome!
  20. Yea I know I had to take it down for now, besides the *.bmp format, it contains a link to my website which I am not allowed to have on the forum untill I contribute more useful post. I can understand that, they don't want people taking without giving. It'll be back up in a minute….
  21. Getting better and more interesting everytime I see it. Keep it up the good work. (Go with the 3d rock if you ask me, but make the bottom of it a little bit darker.) Alright man later…
  22. …with the exception of me, as I am a 31 year old and am a pro level graphics artist. I am nice to people simply because I have what's called manners. (You should try it sometime Robin). Anyway I know that creative improvement comes from positive reinforcement not negative, and I am interested in seeing these guys produce some cool games that I would like to play. However I'm not about to draw someone's art for them, just give advice. So...XJocent what's the latest?
  23. Looking better already. I noticed you changed the gold to cash eh? So is this like a gangster type game? Just wondering. Anyway keep up the good work and don't listen to all the negativity. It does nothing but drain your energy to let someone crap all over you like that. Take it from me as I am one of the few actual professional artist on this board…there is a clear difference between constructive criticism, and unnecessary rudeness. Ironic that someone tried to discredit my advice by saying I have no aesthetic sense. I have the exact artistic personality that does. (That's why I have to do my projects one complete piece at a time, as I cannot stand "under construction", ugly, disfigured messes.) I recommend you do the same. Like don't stop working on that G.U.I. you are working on until it is completely finished and polished. That way it will serve as positive reinforcement every time you work on your project. If you leave it as a half way finished mess, it will do the opposite and drain your creative energies. Yea I hear what you said about getting that you are not finished. As an artist, I know how these things are sculpted out in layers. I understand the concept of "work in progress". That's the reason I don't make ignorant comments that would only make sense if you were attempting to display your work as the finished version. Alright well keep at it man, later...
  24. I couldn't be more bored.
