  1. @'Nobody': > I've been into folk punk lately could be cool. link me some?

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > Possibly, but I would generally advice against it unless you know what you're doing and you know the make and model are entirely compatible with the parts you would be replacing. As I said before, generally speaking notebooks are not designed to be upgraded. Well if it is welded on I'll take it down to the local computer store and see if I can get any more information. Honestly this something that I seriously want.

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > If it is, at least you know before you spent money on an upgrade! If it is could i have someone remove the solders and put on a socket? if so that would be friggin' sick. i love this computer and i am beyond in love with its case. (its a purple dell inspiron m731R) (not meaning to brag, but its sleek, thin, and has a 17 inch screen)

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > In general notebook processor can't be replaced as they're soldered to the motherboard though? You may want to be sure of that as well before thinking of purchasing a new CPU. > > Notebooks are generally not made to be upgraded. Planning on getting this thing part tomorrow to see if it is soldered on. I hope its not. *crosses fingers* wish me luck.

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > Are you sure you meant the A10-5745? All I can find is a mobile processor under that name (a quick glance, am at work after all.) yeah, im on a notebook. but i know no notebook processor will be able to compare to a desktop. I'm trying as hard as i can to get this thing as functional as a desktop.

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > I'm aware, unfortunately I am no expert on AMD sockets as all my machines run Intel hardware (even the servers do). If you're not sure about it I'd check the socket specifications. With how many issues ive been having lately with amd (even though its my preferred equipment) im considering going intel on my next upgrade. And trust me ive tried. I've been researching this for about 2 hours now. i need to go code something, clear my mind some.

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

@'Joyce': > Pretty sure the FM2+ socket is backwards compatible, but not sure about FM2 being compatible with FM2+ processors. AMD is a bit odd like that. I know my old AM3 socket could hold AM3+ processors, albeit with some downsides. The large problem is that the processor is 159 dollars, and i cant go off of this just off of a hope that it will work. Also, the port i have isnt an FM2 or an FM2+. and the port im using i need to be Forwards, (repeat, forwards) compatible. however, i do feel a lot better hearing this. knowing there is some chance.
  8. @'Nobody': > I use to be into all the dubsteps and stuff like that, but here recently I've moved away from that genre. I realized there are more aspects to music then base drops. To be blunt, I am a producer. my whole life revolves around bass drops. However, i do listen to metal, my girlfriend forces me to listen to country, and i rather enjoy rap. However i have pretty fantastic collections of my other music preferences. the only collection im restarting is my electronic music collection.

    AMD CPU SOCKET HELP.

So, ive been doing some massive research on processors because even though most of my computer is up to standards, my processor frankly sucks. I've been looking at the AMD A10 series, because right now i have an A10 5745 and want to upgrade, but ive realised something. the A10 5745 seems to have a socket totally different from all the reast of amd's A10 sockets. This causes some major conflict for me. Researching the socket i came to realise that there is pretty much nothing out there information wise for it (ts an FP2), and almost all other A10 processors run either an FM2, or an FM2+. Now after some really foolish google image searching, ive come to the conclusion that the FP2, and the FM2+ are identical. i dont know about the FM2. Ultimately, what im getting at is 2 questions. A: Is it possible that these two processor sockets are cross compatible? I'd kill for an A10-7870K. or B: Is it possible to go to a professional and have the socket on my motherboard replaced with an FM2+? ~IFX
  10. Some Cliche Steampunk Game Name Here (Possibly Project Clockwork) I'm currently working on a game, that i've ~~pretty much~~ entirely been coding from scratch. Now before I bore you with chat here's what the game is about/includes/will include: Recent Updates: Restarted code because of issues with organization. Will have dev team together soon to all work on this at once. Hopefully. Until then its just me working on code. Shut up and tell me about the storyline: #Insert Spoiler Here Humanity has destroyed earth. From pollution and war. As an act of desperation they fled. Taking what resources they had from earth, and nearby planets and using them to design a fully functioning self sustained ecosystem. The planet's mechanical infrastructure stretching all the way down to the core allowing for complete and entire re-creation in case of human failure. However, the surface looks like that of earth. And after thousands of years, the inhabitants had entirely forgotten about their losses and even forgotten about the planet they where standing on's main function. Now on a day like any other, the earth starts to shake. and the land opens up. showing the planets insides. And revealing the clockwork innards of the massive ship. The planet has began its re-creation cycle and it's your job to figure out why and stop it. Before it kills everyone. Game Play: #insert another spoiler here Game play is similar to that of your standard dungeon crawler. As you go deeper into the planet, the difficulty increases, and as you get closer to the surface, things get easier. Complete with randomly generated dungeons and a guaranteed different path every time. With huge hoards of enemies and 7 different classes to chose from the play ability is limitless. With an uncountable amount of enemies and enough ranged/close range/magic style attacks a persons play style could be of any type. Current/Planned Features: Current features: I restarted the code tonight, was having organization issues. Will be back up to pace soon. Planned Features: * Multiplayer done by the end of next week. * All player models complete and most of surface done by end of next month. * Two more control sets (XInput, and keyboard/mouse) (the current control set is similar to binding of isaacs, wasd and arrow keys) * about 10 thousand more items. * A hud * and artwork to show here. * 7 classes to chose from. * Randomly generated dungeons. * Smart(ish) ai. * A complete skill set for each character * and enough code to make Ahbi's eyes roll back in his head. Artwork and Other Media: None yet, but should have some soon. Staff: #too many spoilers that i need. Myself for artwork, coding, and music. My close friend travis (xWarlord) working on 3d modeling. My close friend jon (BlackPhantom) beta/alpha testing for me. And my friend from school Jeremy Syron (Hazard) with coding/concept art and design.
  11. @agoraphobic way old school. @Henrik I totally spaced out ZD. I love the stuff he did with omar linx. I even went as far as to purchase most of his collabs with omar linx. Listening to Rudeboy without omar rapping over it seems strange. @Colonello I adore tasty network, and zomboy is one of my faves. however, i had never heard of terminate. thanks.
  12. @'gwen': > Have tried updating your video card drivers to the latest version? I actually should mention that idk what was going on, but when i ran/run the steam version of the game it runs much better. I have no idea what's going on but that seems to have fixed it.
  13. First off, I don't actually expect any feed back. However, any and all would be appreciated. So from what I understand proper meditation is reaching a point where you are at ease. And your entire focus is on one thing. And apparently that is difficult for beginners. Also, apparently keeping the same position, or not having a visual focal point is troublesome. However, my first attempt at meditation I did it for 20 minutes. And at the end of it, my mind had barely wandered, I was still focusing on my breathing. Still had my eyes closed, and had exactly 0 stress. So I decided I'd figure out how long I could go, and on my first attempt successfully meditated for over an hour. At this point it was time for me to go to school and so I left. However I have to admit. I quite enjoyed it. And since then have done it at most for four hours. What I'm getting at is being able to do this this successfully a common thing? Am I doing something wrong? Am I gifted? What's going on here? Also, after meditating I managed to run my body for 28 or so hours without getting tired. Is it possible to not need sleep if you meditate well enough? Could you completely replace sleep with meditation? (Is it possible to get your brainwaves between 0 and 4 hz while meditating? Because that's what you need for true sleep)
  14. Got a copy of the steam version. works much better now. So i recently got a hold on a copy of torchlight II (something ive wanted to play for a while), and i knew id be able to run it, because one of my buddies runs it perfectly on a toaster. However, to my disbelief I came to realize that even with everything as low as low can go i still only run about 16-18 frames per second. This really bothers me because i do get "anti-lag-spikes" where the game runs at 120+ frames but as soon as i move even a pixel to the side its lagging again. Here is the list of issues ive noticed: 1: 90% of the reported issues are from HIGHER END computers 2: Multi-core processors above 2 cores seem to have an issue where only 2 of their cores are taking 99% of the processing power for the game. 3: Any time i get around any form of particles it stalls. Heres the things ive tried to do to fix it (reportedly work but dont for me) 1: total noob move, but has a lot of good feedback: start the game with steam in offline mode, turn off any and all antivirus. result: nothing 2: unpack all of the data files, then repack them with 0 compression. result: one full gig of extra space taken up on my computer, and no fps increase. 3: turning off camera shake in the actual game files. result: Fate-Like camera movement. No fps increase. 4: Pretty much every combination of settings I could imagine. no matter how much i thought it would or wouldn't effect anything. Result: No luck. However, i learned that i run exactly the same on max, and minimal settings. So i know its not the actual settings. Here's my stats. Amd A10 4 core APU. running 2.1 Ghz with Raedon hd graphics. Overclocking to 2.9 without any issues what so ever. 8 gigs of ram (7.2 usable) 64 bit Windows 8.1 and about 1 Terabyte of hdd space. If ANYONE ANYWHERE has any fix at all i would adore it. Thank you.
