  1. I'm looking for a pixel artist to join my project for the One Button Jam, as well as the further progress of the game. To start, during the Game Jam, this will not be a paid position. Just a fun little project to see how we can do against 300+ other games in a short time. When the final version is released and you decide to stay on to further develop the game, you will be given a cut of all revenue the game generates. I have a voice actor, and a music writer currently involved in the project, but will only end up being paid cash for completed work. As far as I see it - a graphics artist is an essential an ongoing role during game development; so a percentage of revenue would be best suited.

I've been working on designing a game for some time now, and after a couple of iterations, I think it's time that I start from scratch and make a complete version of the game, using just one button - in order to qualify for the Game Jam. After the jam is complete, I'll be continuing development on the game as a full-fledged mobile game using a Rewarded Ads approach through UnityAds.

If you have any examples of your work, I'd love to see them! The base sprite being used (for time's sake) will be the Fantasy Time sprites.

Until the Game Jam is done on August 21st, most work that I need done will be items being drafted on to the base sprite mentioned above. Item icons are complete, and the base sprite is complete. I don't believe I will need animated items, so it makes the work load a little smaller.

Let me know if you are interested - I would love to see some examples of your work and then we can move forward in discussing the game concept and idea. I have a playable version of the 'concept' but I am starting from scratch in order to implement ideas that will keep players intrigued.

    Thanks so much!
  2. Anyone needing these is going to need more 3D assets… and if they can't alter the top cap of a prism, and move an icosphere to it's tip to make the tree you made, then they really shouldn't be wasting time on thinking up a game..?
For what they are though, could be useful!
  3. This whole topic is just the center of an individual making the conscious choice to be a miserable SOB and the rest of us arguing over an acronym. Call it whatever the hell you want and move on with your day. I'm going with TOOGWRG or otherwise and popularly known as "Totally Original Online Games With RMXP Graphics"

Yeah - an acronym within an acronym. Bitch about that now.
  4. *facepalm*

Did you redownload everything and place it into a different folder - try running it from a different spot after extracting it into it's own folder on your desktop or something?
  5. All people are telling you to do is learn something before you think you own a 'Garsteto Studios'. You put so much time into coming up with logos and banners and engines and concept art and videos and meaningless stuff that you falsely make yourself believe it supporting a game that does not even exist yet.
  6. Just a thought - but why does anybody need concept art for an Eclipse game? It takes 10-15 minutes to make concept like yours (up to 1-3 hours for quality concepts) and 15 minutes to put a map together… Soooo. Why not just do it in the game? I mean where is this concept are going to really provide value?

I think it's overdone, full of false pride, and this is like the.. what... one of three projects you've got going at the same time or something?

You came in hot and full of ambition like we all did at one point, but you're ignoring all positive critiques by people who have valuable opinions. Tough to take this all seriously.

"New art coming soon." is also not an update when all you're doing is downloading it and throwing it into a folder.
  7. Hey brother, I'm willing to put some mapping together for you! I started my new career and work 6am - 2pm so I've got lots of time in the evening to work on stuff like this.

Been a part of these forums waaayyyyyy back when it was Player Worlds, Mirage, Elysium, everything else so I'm familiar with how things work. Quite frankly I'm not even interested in any pay, and I understand you're a pretty solid programmer to make the game unique, so I think that's what will increase the game merit.

Feel free to add me on Skype - naytemelo
  8. Hey Andii - do you have an Android Phone? If so I can just add your Gmail account to the testers community and allow you to get it right on your phone. The PC build won't be out for a while as I want to really revamp the whole UI for PC-specifically. I won't need to do that until it's potentially Greenlit on Steam, so it will be a while.

However, I've been in the Android community as a BETA app for a couple months now - and I just received my approval for the App Store. So iDevices will be next on my list as soon as I fix a decently bug easy-to-fix bug I accidentally ported out last night.

I may even need you to redo my character model as well… I'm not too happy with the one I made and I enjoy your style much more.
  9. Hey dude - I have a project I'm working on that needs some items recreated on a character base. Nothing is animated, it's all just static. It's quite a few items and will require more as I release updates. It's for an Android App (Soon on Apple also) - so what I'm going to do is finish the equipment system, build it onto a PC build and send it over to you to see if it's even something you want to put your time in to. When I have an idea of what I need or how much I need, I'll send you an update as well as a PC build! :)

Your oddly-amazing isometric graphics in your signature are incredible by the way. Really well done brother.
  10. Interesting topic!
    Here's my two cents:

I feel that people who play any sort of Adventure Game, or ORPG/MMO are in one way or another fulfilling the need of **_progression_** and to see that progression. Whether it's economic in gathering the most currency, hoarding with the best of the best equipment, stat building, or progressing in the story. It's an incredible feeling in both real life and in a game to see how you start off with nothing, or with very little, and move on to be a huge mogul in your area of interest.
Zezima is the extreme case - and I'm hoping everyone knows who I'm talking about.

I for one enjoy watching my characters come to life through equipment that reflects its power on your character model, as well as establishing a loyal guild. Seeing my character build up from a character of zero value to someone who can do extensive damage or has a lot of 'gold' in the bank to help other players is where I thrive - and even today I am developing a game that is based solely on economic growth, rather than provide text/dialogue of a story which players filter through quickly and miss out on an event I work so hard to implement into the story. Not to say all players are like this though - I respect people who can dive into a game and play it 3 or 4 times through in order to understand the story.
Players also need a comparison to remind them of where they started off - which is why online is so great because you are constantly seeing new players.

This brings me to my next point. If we wanted to play a game with all of these features at its best, we'd all be playing Skyrim by ourselves 24/7.

Instead, people want that effect of community.

So to sum it up; I love games that allow a constant view on how you grow. Diablo 3 is a good example for me because it's a linear storyline, has seemingly-infinite items, all of which improve the look of your character as you level up. The thing that lacks though is the economy; because items drop at random, its a 'risk' to purchase an item. They are usually purchased out of impatience for the drop, or an immediate need to defeat an enemy the player is stuck on.

Even simpler for the sake of 2D Games made w/ Eclipse Engines:
    - Items
    - Skill sets
    - Minorly intriguing story
    - Structured and attractive maps that flow nicely
    - At least a solid 15-20 player levels of gameplay before the "BETA-grind" kicks in to level up.

    - This one is a long shot, but I really am tired of the same old graphics. Over the past 6 or so years all games using recycled graphics seem to come off as the same. Custom graphics is large for me, which is why I never seem to play anything from these forums anymore.
  11. Hey @[member="Andiii"]

Was wondering if you would be interested in becoming part of a small team for a future project group of mine? Nothing to share yet but I wanted to ask where your interest lay? Are you willing to join a team if it is promising or do you want to strictly do piece work?

    Thanks brother,

    Nate
  12. > O Lorde, Here we go again, I was on the fence about the merge, Not that my 2 bit coins matter just throwing them out there. But i see history repeating itself with a possible paid engine.

With all the free options out there nowaday's a small community based engine like this will never survive. I literally paid for 7 months gold membership for Eclipse, realized it was a joke for the perks that I actually got (back when Gold existed) and learned C# / Unity3D  and Blender in the short time since then. If people really want to learn a game there are so many alternatives that won't even touch their wallet.

Really excited to see Eclipse coming from a different angle! :)
  13. Tell ya what dude. I can't be annoyed with you because I was in your position when I started out.

Get the engine you prefer, and start from scratch. Don't write a story, use RMXP graphics, and use the built-in features. Know those forwards and backwards and then you can enter a real serious game with confidence.

Continuing where someone left off is terrible practice. You seem young, so I encourage you to visit something like Codecademy.com and learn some programming for yourself! :) It's really fun.
