  1. @'Jaxx': > Yes I will! Woot! I really love this engine, and would hate to see it die off like the majority of the engines on here.
  2. @'Jaxx': > Guys, I'm not taking any feature requests. Eclipse Skywyre is me aiming to supply a stable and ready BASE engine. I'd be happy to do paid commissions when I have some time, but I don't think I will be supplying any new features to Eclipse Skywyre. Ahhh, okay. But you'll fix the bugs, right? :D

For example, I've got an item called "Blood Droplet" that I created for crafting potions. I can deposit them, but I can't withdraw them. I've also made a "Ship Ticket" that doesn't have a type. Same issue. Recommendation: add new item types, such as "material" or "gem" or something. > > > > > > > > 2) Other players can't view item stats in the trade window. > > > > > > > > 3) Not a fan of the '+' buttons in the Quest log. Could you change the direct server-to-client chat so that messages that are sent (from server-side) show up in the same general way as the Boss announcement, instead of in the chatbox? I would also like to add that it'd be a good idea to add some sort of a buff/debuff system. Say a character drinks a bottle of Ale... they'll get a mixed buff/debuff: their endurance will go up, but their agility will go down. And have the buff system display little icons beneath the health/mana/exp bars. > > > > > > And to add on to the buff system: bonus experience. Clarification: when you activate x2, x3, x4, or x5 experience, there should be a little buff icon beneath the health/mana/exp stating that the bonus experience is in effect. > > > > > > Idk. This is VERY important! Class advancement. Okay, so, let's say a player decides to be a Rogue. So they play through the game, get a bunch of gear that other starter classes can't use, etc. He hits level 25 and decides to become an Assassin. Instantly, he's unable to use any of the gear that he's been using! Is there any way to work around that? Or do I just have to make a bunch of Lvl25 gear?

  5. Couple of bugs and requests. Please take these into consideration, as they're quite annoying. 1) Banks won't allow you to withdraw items that don't have a type. Maybe a legit gui? Thanks!

  7. @'Tick': > Sky, think you could add a feature to send the data when they mess with map props so that they don't have any issues saving data? Also, could you change the way the news file is processed? Like, have the news file in the server folder, instead of the client folder. It just doesn't make sense with it there.

[You should try clicking here!](https://www.google.com/search?q=ORPG&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) Honestly, dude. You're trying too hard. Or maybe you're not trying hard enough.
  9. @'aeronx': > We'll i think v3 is working better than v4 actually. I'm not able to use map properties in v4, it brings up a runtime error. Someone had posted a fix for that on this thread… Try searching back a page or two. (:
  10. @'GalacticGlum': > First we should all stop calling them MMO's 10 people is not an MMO, it's an Online Multiplayer game! Or simply a Online Role Playing Game. I use that term as a generic catch-all phrase. But you're right, ORPG would be a better-fitting term.

And 99% of projects here die anyways and never gets finished because people are lazy and their are trying to make their first game MMO, which will never happen. So my point is valid. The mmo I'm making is the first game I plan on publishing. No matter which type of game you make, online or not, there will be people out there that will say "you'll never make it, it's too big for you to handle, blah blah blah TROLOLOLOL." I'm putting a lot of time into The Underground, and I'm dedicated on finishing. I've been with this community since the beginning (new accounts…lost access to the original). I've seen projects live and die. I want to contribute to the community in any way I can. This post is just one way.
  12. @'TehDoug': > Just asking, Because I can, Does this compress everything? Yes, everything is compressed, much like the installers that the 'professionals' use. I'm unsure how much the data is compressed, but I know it compresses.
  13. @'Sigridunset': > There are tons of people on this site who are unnecessarily negative and everyone knows about them but they are too lazy to point them out so this post is totally useless. You, my good sir, deserve a cookie. * * * @'YourBestNightmare': > There are tons of these around and everyone knows about them but they are lazy to use them so this post is totally useless. Too lazy to use a self-installer package, but not too lazy to make an MMO? Because screw logic, that's why.
  14. @'Miharukun': > I just found something interesting, when i use Area of effect spell the monster gets Healed too or the other player got damaged. > Even if they are in my party Interesting. And which version are you using?
  15. Self Installer! Okay, okay. I personally didn't make the resource, nor have I had anything to do with it. I'm posting this here because I feel that it could be put to good use by a lot of people in the Eclipse community. I've noticed that a large majority of you STILL simply just zip up your game and send it on out. Think about this: how many 'professional' (yeah, many of us are only here for fun. Bear with me) games force the user to extract everything themselves? ~~I have yet to find one.~~ Literally everything made with Eclipse or Unity. Anyway, the majority of 'official' downloadable games come in the form of a self-installing EXE program that does all of the extracting for you. Right? Right??? Today, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you something that will help to give your games an added 'professional' feel. You can customize just about everything for the installer, and even add your own EULA/ToS that the user has to agree to in order to install your game (I find this to be a GREAT feature, for legal protection purposes.) Of course, you can always opt out of adding an EULA/ToS. It also comes with a nifty feature that creates an **UN-**installer. So if, for whatever reason, your players get bored of your game, they can simply uninstall it, just like any other program. ALSO, you can choose to have your game (or whatever program you're making) installed somewhere in 'C:/ProgramFiles/YourCompany/YourGame' or whatever, and include a desktop shortcut to the client. You can also add a start menu folder. Basically, it's a self-installing package creator that will add a bit more 'professionalism' to your games. Do you use Unity? Tired of the ugly Game_Data folder? No problem! Have everything installed to a directory of your choosing, and add a nifty little desktop shortcut to your game! Oh, and did I mention that it's _**free**_? Yeah, I probably should've mentioned that sooner. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you…. 16. Been two weeks… Still waiting on the "weekly" update. /: Really great engine, everything aside. Best I've seen on here by far.
  17. Well, if you were to use a monospace font, it could be fixed by adjusting character count. But changing the width of your gui would definitely be the easier fix.
  18. Yup, get the same runtime error as everyone else when I try to open the Properties in the Map editor.
  19. I usually have trouble when creating names for characters/places, so for that, I just lightly and quickly slap my fingertips on my keyboard, then I just fill in the vowels where it would be appropriate. For example, if I get "akaekrj", then I would probably turn it into something like "Akaekorij". Great method for fantasy names, IMHO. As for writing a storyline, I usually just go with whatever pops into my head and then follow it. If that doesn't happen, then I just focus on designing the game world/items/quests. I'll usually get an idea like "Hm… It'd be cool if X was here because of Y, but none of the villagers know that, so they want Player to go find Z so they can figure out where the heck X came from and what exactly Y is." and just go with that. If anything, I find that the best way to write a story is to not think too hard about it. Your brain works best on things like this when it's allowed to solve the problem in the background. Your subconsciousness can actually figure things out better/quicker than when you actively think about it.
  20. @lurv Which version of the engine are you using? I'm using v3, and have been able to host a server with 3+ people on it (my game is in pre-early-alpha) with no problems whatsoever.
  21. So, I'm in need of items (including everything from different armor types, to weapons, to just misc. stuff) and paperdolls that are based off the armor/weapon designs. I'd do it myself, but I can't for the life of me design a decent paperdoll/item. For what it's worth, they need to be in EO2.0 format.
  22. Everyone loves a good MMO. Everyone loves good vocals within an MMO. Thanks to the play/stop BGM component of the Event handler in Eclipse, it's possible for your NPCs to have full vocals! Perfect for quests, characters, storylines, etc. I've been trying to get a start doing voiceovers for a while now. So… if anybody wishes to add a little more flavor to their otherwise bland NPCs, just let me know! Pricing varies, depending on the difficulty, length of script, etc. When I start building up a portfolio, I'll have some tracks on display here.
  23. Okay before I get started: Hi. I'm Gahduvdeth. For those of you that can't pronounce things like that, it's pronounced "God Of Death". I'm only throwing this out there because this forums seems to have an appalling lack of an introductory board (unless I'm missing something???). Anyway, to the point. For some reason, I can't get pets to work in 4.2.3\. I create the pet, then it goes into the character's inventory (whether through a shop, item drop, or spawn…I've tried all three). The player can't summon the pet, and when clicking on the Pet tab, it throws an error saying the player doesn't have a pet. Am I missing something here? A patch, maybe? Or is this just a bug that happened when 4.2.3 was created to be identical to gold, etc.?
