  1. Inkarnate is pretty good. Slightly limited, but still nice nonetheless.
  2. I'll have a hard time finding anyone willing to do anything, but the point is that I'm trying. And quite honestly, as long as that style can be achieved and properly rendered (not just through pixel art) then it'll work.
  3. Bump! There's just over a week left before the dungeon submissions are due! Good luck!
  4. I gave a theme, and I'm not limiting it to any one tileset. The reason for this is because the map's graphics will be converted over to fit those of TWoA anyway. Work with whatever you feel most comfortable with. EDIT: The goal here is not to see who can design the best map using a given tileset, but to see who can design the best dungeon within a given theme.
  5. Sounds good, can't wait to see it!
  6. You can use whichever program or tileset you'd like. I'll just remap it into the game.
  7. Okay, so, I'm not sure where to put this. So I'm just slapping it up here. You can either submit your entry through this thread, or on the original post that exists on my website (which can be found in my sig). **Theme: Underground Caverns** **Restrictions: None** **Due date: April 8th, 2016 at 12:00 AM CST** **First Prize: Your dungeon will be implemented into TWoA, and your character will be given 1,000 GP.** **Second Prize: 500 GP.** **Third Prize: 100 GP.** Winners will be selected on April 9th, and the winning dungeon will be implemented into the game by April 15th. Please try to flesh out the dungeon as much as possible, including any items or monsters a player would face along the way. In order to gain entry into the contest, all you have to do is reply to this thread with images of your dungeon that have been uploaded to Imgur, as well as details about the dungeon such as items and monsters.
  8. @'Growlith1223': > Or you could you know, fix the system and make it dynamic.. it's not hard to do so Sigh. Not helpful. What might not be hard for you, could be a major challenge for another person. Not everybody has the same skill level as you. This guy clearly is far below where you stand. So for everybody saying "omg it's so easy to do, I don't understand why you haven't done it, blah blah blah", I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that at some point you'll understand the concept of different skill levels. Once more, just to be redundant: what's easy for you, might not be easy for someone else. /EndRant With that being out of the way…. Sekiguchi, you'll have to open the source code in VB6 (I believe for both the client and the server), search for maxclasses, and change the value there. Then you'll have to search for the current classes *in the code* and either remove them completely, or edit them yourself to fit your needs. After that, compile everything, and you should be good to go.
  9. @'Sekiguchi: > Girl: Do u even want to be with me forever? > Boy: No > ~snip~ Nice spam post.
  10. I do not own these sound effects, I'm merely doing my duty to freely distribute them to those who may need them, as per [[the license….this is a hyperlink]](http://www.sonniss.com/gdc-bundle-license/). They're being distributed via torrent. If you would like to take a look, you may obtain them [[by clicking here…. again, hyperlink]](http://sonniss.com/GameAudioGDCPart2.torrent)
  11. Yeah, check the link again, and scroll to the bottom to view the edit. (I'll remove it in a few minutes, so let me know once you've seen it.)
  12. Ah, it seems you found my Reddit profile. :P And yes, it *could* apply to any field, or even to life in particular. I just wrote it, at that time, as encouragement to game developers.
  13. This is dedicated to game developers. I don't care if you're a full, professional company like Bethesda, or a tiny indie team like Bread Vision Studios, this is for all of you. No matter where you are, game development is like suddenly finding yourself stranded in the middle of the ocean. And if you're new to it, it's even worse because you don't know how to swim. If you don't ever learn how to swim, you'll drown before you can even get the chance to live. If you finally learn how to swim, or if you already know how, then you need to start heading somewhere, anywhere. But be careful! If you push yourself too hard, you'll easily burn out and you could quickly drown. That's the least of your worries, also. You're still faced with choppy seas and rough weather, in the form of other developers and life events of all sizes. There are also sharks out there, so be careful. Sometimes, the waves and storms will push you around and almost drown you, preventing you from ever reaching your goal. Other times, they might unknowingly help you towards your goal, whatever that might be. Sometimes, you'll see a bit of land in the distance. You swim towards it, your goal is in sight! But the winds and waves might push you away, make you lose sight of that goal, and it's lost forever. Other times you'll be swept even further out to sea, and would have to start something else, start a new path. But sometimes, you'll reach that land. Sometimes, you'll reach that goal. And once you do, you'll finally have some firm ground to stand on. You'll finally have that rush of joy, knowing that YOU did this. YOU got yourself to this point. This is YOUR island, YOUR project, YOUR achievement. And once you get to that land, who knows where you'll go from there? Perhaps you'll use the resources of that island to build a raft, to find another island. It'll definitely make things a lot easier next time, if you decide to venture out again. Either way, no matter where you are, don't give up. There's always hope, just remember to take a break every now and then. Get your bearings, and then keep going. You can do this. I believe in you.
  14. Ah, well, good to see that there actually are some others out there doing this with Eclipse! :D
  15. To this date, I haven't seen any Eclipse games that have something that I can only describe as buildings that occupy real-space. Generally, when you enter a building, you're warped to a different map or a different portion of the map. The building doesn't occupy real-space. Because of this, it gives a sort of Time Lord effect, and the interior of a building is unrealistically larger or smaller than the exterior. So, my team has decided to attempt making real-space buildings by using the engine's Event system. [Here are the results. [hyperlink]](http://imgur.com/a/dp4Rq) Now, I can understand why I haven't seen any other Eclipse games doing this, because it's a pain in the ass to do. But, it's totally worth it and leaves a pretty cool effect/illusion of making the game world seem that much more believable.
  16. Bump! We have a new website up (http://www.triadentertainment.net/). Also, we're still searching for a pixel artist!

But even if a person's new and doesn't have any experience, there's still a small chance that they don't have any examples to show… which is why they would do something like this: to produce examples and gain experience.
  19. @'BeNjO': > Its been great fighting world bosses with groups of random players who I have never met. Really kicks it into you that you can do things solo rather than needing a huge team with a huge budget. Really stoked for the future of Division Of Life! Keep up the good work, BeNjO! Yeah, don't listen to anybody that says you need a team and a budget to do anything. The only thing you need is the passion to complete your project. The rest just falls into place. Sure, a team/budget helps quite a lot, but it's definitely possible to do a project completely solo.

It's probably safe to assume that he/she's new to this and wants to accumulate experience… as such, probably doesn't have examples (again: new to this, and wants to accumulate experience.)

@'Miharukun': > Uhhh i think you just need to re design the GUI >.> No need to redesign the GUI. Open up the client's source code, and search for ``` ' render stats ``` In that bit of code, you'll see something like ``` RenderText Font_Default, "Str: " & GetPlayerStat(MyIndex, strength), dX, dY, White ``` and it'll be repeated a few times. Simply change the bit that's in quotes to whatever you want, and then compile.
