  1. @'Mal': > Hiya! I'd be interested in learning about your project, what your goals are, what the tech stack will be, and a few other tidbits. :) > > I'm a seasoned (4+ years) VB.NET/C#/Unity developer. Here's my Skype: epiphanez Sent you a request.
  2. @'SkywardRiver': > My only advice for you would be to maybe include more info next time, and to accept criticism only to a certain extent. If it's advice on making maps, changing up your flavor text on your items, that's all well and good. If it's "You and your ideas and/or methods suck and should consider something completely different like this…" I would totally ignore it from 85% of the members here, as 85% of them don't know the first thing about game dev. Learn what you can here, maybe release a game or two, and then move on. I will master, I sincerely thank you for your input.
  3. @'PD': > @'TheGoblinKing': > > > Everything I do, I do for a reason. Roles are restricting to the creative flow. I do have guys that are better at art than others but they are also learning VB6\. I have guys that more adept at programming but they are doing mapping. It's a "You do You" environment where as long as you're making progress than you are in the good. Once we get into the office (Next Weekend) we will probably have more defined roles but at the moment it is controlled chaos. It is not like I am keeping the information from you on purpose it just has yet to be defined. I will give you an educated guess at what each person is doing currently. > > > > Harley: Everything > > Jeremy: Mapper/Programmer > > Jeffery: Artist/ Programmer > > Jordan: Programmer > > Devin: Artist > > > > Everyone is hashing out the story together with a defined main. > > No chosen one bull-mess by the by > > > > More people are likely to join and these roles are just educated guesses. > > That's much better. Was that really that hard to post in the beginning? Now people have a much better idea as to how their own skillset can contribute to the team. Also, will you be making use of Eclipse and VB6? Yes it was hard to post. It is taking information that is not cretin and making a guess on what will happen. I really hate generalizing. If what you mean by the questions is that we are using the built in stuff as well as programming our own then yes. Got a few guys learning VB6 and breaking apart the code to learn what it does exactly. We actually found a 9 hour tutorial on VB6 everyone is watching.
  4. @'PD': > @'TheGoblinKing': > > > Well I do have a business licences so I wasn't lying. I have a LLC (Limited liability corporation) it just so happens that the people that work for me are my friends. Everyone has to start somewhere. I have been on this web-sight for many years, way back whenever eclipse origins was the most recent. Whenever I would ask for help on the forums or talk about ideas I would always get people putting me down and I see that hasn't changed from the looks of other forums posts. My plan is to get someone interested and add them on Skype, then call them. It just so happens that I am with everyone that is on the project so we can all chat with the guy or gal that is interested in working with us. > > But you still haven't told us what you and your team can do. Why would I be interested in working with a team of 6 people when not one of them can make a post detailing what each member can do. Not hating but you need to do a better job with details to interest people with actual skill. Everything I do, I do for a reason. Roles are restricting to the creative flow. Harley: Everything Jeremy: Mapper/Programmer Jeffery: Artist/ Programmer Jordan: Programmer Devin: Artist Everyone is hashing out the story together with a defined main. No chosen one bull-mess by the by More people are likely to join and these roles are just educated guesses.
  5. @'Dr.House': > I still don't understand why you insist keeping it secret, you would have better chances finding people to work with if you would post at least some details about your project, more than that it will take 7 months or so. > > I've been warned by an Admin, for being rude, I honestly have no intention of being rude, only honest, I am sorry if I offended you in any way, but I am just suggesting you a better approach. > You've finally been honest with yourself and us, when you said it's a group of friends trying to make something, wich was exactly my post that has been deleted. > > It's better to be honest with people, pretending to be something that you're not when trying to get some real work, is a very bad idea. > > Post a few details about the projects, some important ones. > Tell us about your friends first, what they can do, and what do you expect to find here. > Try posting some available and most wanted "job positions" that you hope to be able to fill here with people. > > I am expecting more from a group of 6 men, not only being that kind of men who can't do anything, only exchanging ideas and talking without experience, recruiting people to do their job, while they do nothing useful. > Are your friends programmers, web designers or developers, artists, or just people with ideas and nothing else? > > TL;DR > > Tell me more about you and your friends, about your project and what you're trying to achieve. Well I do have a business licences so I wasn't lying. I have a LLC (Limited liability corporation) it just so happens that the people that work for me are my friends. Everyone has to start somewhere. 6. @'Orake: > I'm good at making maps, story's, all in game content add me on skype [email protected], Sent you a request on skype
  7. @'PD': > Can you tell us what each man on the team can do? And what is the general idea that you have? Well we are a group of friends that are working together to make something amazing. We are working on a big project and will take 7 months or so to be complete.
  8. @'Dr.House': > > Six man development company > > Are you sure you didn't mean, **Six KIDS "development company"?** Depends on how you define "Kids". To me anyone under 12 (Because once they hit 13 they are a teen) is a kid but that may be different for a 40 year old Doctor. I was honestly expecting something more witty from you. We are a group of 20 somethings just trying to make our way in this world.
  9. @'Irij': > I program but not typically in VB6\. I mean I can, but I prefer C#. I have some guys trying to learn the ins and outs of the engine code, some seasoned eyes could help. You have a skype?
  10. @'Irij': > What kind of help are you looking for though? Programming, art…? What can you do? (If your interested)
  11. @'Irij': > If you're looking for help, you should probably give more information on the project you are working on and what you'd like the new team member (if recruited) to be doing. How am I suppose to know what you're interested in unless you tell us? :) Well I kept it vague for a reason. We have very little idea of what we want to do so far but we have a general idea. Anything is open to change. If you want to work with a team then here is your chance we are looking to see what we get. ( After re-reading this it sounded kinda sassy lol It was not intended to be that sassy)
  12. Six man development company looking for additional help for new project. Tells up about yourself and some of your talents that we would be interested in. We'll be in touch! -TheGoblinKing
  13. I have tried many times for the past few years to make a project online but I keep running into the same wall. Would someone be willing to assist me in making my project online.
  14. Friend 1 wants to make a game Friend 2 wants to help How does friend 2 get the maps he made to friend 1?
