Why not make him an rpg that doesnt require as much work to maintain once the work is done. Seeing that its a gift for your friend an rpg can always be played where as an orpg there is always a server that needs hosted, plus a lot of other hassle I'm sure you don't want to deal with. I know you probably have your mind made up… but its an idea. I think an RPG with a close personal storyline for him would be a much better gift. :)

I've been trying to find some tutorials on creating logos and icons and haven't been able to find anything I've been looking for. If anyone knows of any decent photoshop tutorials or a tutorial series they could recommend me to that would be greatly appreciated!

I have been a member of this community off and on for a big majority of my life though I feel I have never really been a strong supporting member like I have always wanted to be. Recently I went though a really rough patch in my life with drinking, drugs, arrests and other things I don't wish to get into. Needless to say last year was one of the roughest years of my life. But the end of last year and this year things have really changed for the better for me. I left a few people here high and dry last year and to those people I owe a big apology. I plan on being a much stronger member of this community and by helping new comers learn and grow by passing along/teaching with what skills I do possess. I want to thank this entire community for being a solid rock and always being a place I can turn to. So once again I am here to say hello as I return to the site and this time, hopefully, it will be for good. Most of you I'm sure don't really care nor have noticed. Are there any programs or apps available for testing walking animations. I'm currently trying to fine tune my walking animations and I am seeking something where I can watch them over and over in loop in order to tweek small things I want correct. Hello. I'm currently looking to hire somebody to work on the User Interfaces for my game. I'm looking to pay around $150+. (Will pay more for higher quality of work). I know a lot of you here so I'd rather go with someone I know, but I'm of course always willing to work with someone new. I want an old school retro kind Zelda Link to the Past kinda feel. If anyone is interested let me know. Will pay today!! I need someone to start ASAP. The last person I paid was to busy and wasn't getting work done. I already have all the blank default GUIs made. I'm excited and love the sound of everything you stated in the direction you are going with Eclipse. Can't wait to see the full potential of some of the people around this community while it grows and evolves..

So as I am creating this design docket for my coder, one thing I am striving for is uniqueness in my classes. Some things I've noticed are very similar to LOZ… Small example would be the warrior has a rage spell where if someone is casting a spell at them they can swing in defense and send a spell back at the casting mage... Which is something that can be done in many Legend of Zelda games.. So my question is do you think small things like that, if I make them unique enough to be my own, is something I should worry about with copyright issues and such? Just curious on some other people's opinions.

So I'm attempting now to explain how I want the framework to work for my mmo this guy is coding for me. & Right now I'm attempting to work on the spell and fighting system. So I was just wondering if anyone knew any good tutorials I should check out. I think my lack of knowledge with coding terminology will hinder me some.. Well just the lack of ability to explain variables, percentages, and constants which is why I'm hoping a good tutorial could help me out. Thank you guys. :)

I'm checking em out now… I'd say for example.. making a new suit of armor takes me on average 45-70ish minutes if I don't take breaks and its pretty simple. Idk on average how long it normally takes someone else.. I just know I'm pretty novice at best.

I've been using paint for a while. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some big giant thing I've been missing. lol. Time is always important to me.

Now first things first I posted a looking for programmer post a few months back. I ended up never responding to anyone because I ran into some legal trouble and so on and so fourth my time was very preoccupied for a while. Now that all of that situation has been put in the past I am back and looking for someone to do some similar work. What I'm looking for has changed a little and as it is a little more complex the job will pay significantly more. For a while I've been putting GFX, Lore, and different things together for my mmorpg I want to potentially make. Now that I'm a few months in I've figured out that I really need an engine that will suffice my visions/dreams. I'm going to want a lot done. Here is a small example style list of things I would like… - Compatibility wise I would like it to be compatible on all Windows desktops and Mac desktops... Mobile wise I only care if it compatible with Windows Phones... Noticing their lack of apps really is the only thing that draws my interest to them. - Things like Auction Houses, Banks, Player Legends, Player Houses, Marriage, and ect ect. - Obviously things like well constructed Quest and Resource systems. If you are interested and I decide to choose you for the job I have a complete file listing everything I want in detail. What I need from you? - Anyone interested in working I would like 2-5 examples of your work. - One to Three people as references that you have worked for or worked with. When it comes to pay? I am looking to spend between $1,000-2,000. I would like to get all of this started up on December 1st. That would imo give you time to free up your schedule if you have other things going on in your life ect ect. So once December 1st rolls I will make my first up front payment of $500.00 The rest we can discuss, as in paying another $500.00 midway or really however you would like to receive payment. I've been debating very hard on just buying Photoshop. It seems to me as a must have… One question I want to ask before going down to the store and purchasing it is this... When it comes to item, sprite, animation, npc, and different forms or gfx creation that includes some sort of animation is there any kind of way that Photoshop can cut down on the time it takes for me to create something.... example: Say I'm creating a sprite is there a way it can automatically render the walking animations so I don't have to for every single sprite. So that's all I want to know. Thanks and I'll wait for answers. :)

Personally for me whenever I use instagram I use it to see pictures of festivals, events in town, and or just random things my friends are up too. I'm not big on following celebrities or people I don't know. I think things like twitter and instagram are used to glorify celebrities even further and that part of it sickens me… but on the same note I understand it and why someone else would indeed like it. All that being said I do follow things like EarthPorn and some of my favorite music artists and I enjoy that. But idk... I guess I just don't see the point of swapping instagrams on here with random people in a topic I guess is my point.
