  1. @Soul: > No, it doesn't work in VS 2010\. Only VB6. not out of the box. but correctly, this could take a long time to convert enough to compile. I'm definitely not able to to make everything work perfectly ;)
  2. so…VB6? I don't have VB6 and there is no longer a legal way to get it. (there is a "custom script" function in the vent widow but that's probably where this code goes if i could compile it.) if I had a way of compiling vb6 I would definitely make this function myself since I pretty much know how to code in VB6 and VB.NET Edit: I'm upgrading. idk if this would ok inside my vb2010\. lol. gotta know ;)
  3. So I noticed a problem, I need to know how many of an item a player has,not just if they have the item at all. I have an item that is treated as a potion, but in one part you need to turn in a certain amount. setting the "take away" number for "change item"(event editor) to a number a player doesn't have will NOT fail. it simply takes what the player does have, but lets them continue. if this type of multi-item is used cheating is easy. and that isn't good. any help?
  4. @General Pony thanks, but I'm not having a problem creating .jar files. that would be useful if said .class files existed, but for now i'm using jabaco(doesn't do very good) and it already makes jars from vb6 projects.
  5. oh,wow. i'm sorry i posted out of context in that other thread. I though I was supposed to open the .vbp in jabaco and edit it. didn't see this thread. a .Jar version(if anyone succedes) would be cool because then everyone would not have to download a bunch of stuff,or update the client a lot. ;) (edit: i'm aware the other thread was locked. if there's any update onn this software please let me know :D )

    Nicer Eclipse

I was wondering why everyone was acting so much different then before. LOL. :D
  7. I had no Idea this was possible. :) unfortunately even after modifying the code, it has the same error(line 48, Modtypes.vb). this is odd because it is clear that this line had been added(it was missing) and all the variables had been converted as mentioned. should I re-download it?
  8. :embarrassed: that was an easy fix. thank you. :cheesy: I think I'll have fun. anything else I can probably learn myself,as I did in other versions.
  9. quick question: is it possible to turn off blood effects? only semi on-topic but i didn't want to make another thread for something simple and related.
  10. cool! thanks :cheesy: this new engine does so much!
  11. I tried to remove the default maps, first by overwriting them in the map editor (but that took a while and the events wouldn't go away;clicke them then pressing delete but they came back shortly after  ) then i deleted them from the browser. lo and behold the server simply writes 100 files in their place…and they are exact duplicates of the orginals! I need to make my own maps for the game(as I have done for around a year now),but i cannot figure out: how do i remove these? i'm so confused.
  12. this is awesome! it is **MUCH** better then the old EO(in which pretty much nothing worked). If I can figure out how to use events I will like this more then ES/EE because it would solve my major problem: automated storylines were difficult.
  13. is there a web veiwer or possibility of making a web veiwer for the game? i didn't really want to post because im using EE2.7(it has a infinite level up bug so i try to use ES.) :embarrassed: honestly, it would be cool if people could see the game from the internet rather then downloading the client every time. it would embed in a webpage and be easy to use, potentially using the original menus as resources or allowing scripting to build own. implemented as java or flash??(potentially) ^^great idea above this line^^ **NOTE about why im using EE2.7 and ES:** im probably one of the few sad to see lack of customizability is EO. reason: Menus often crash the engine, plus images could be different in ee or ES but now they have to be the same. also, scripting wasn't slow for me. not really posting this to rage though. sorry i use an outdated product lol.
  14. @S.J.R.: > There are multiple specifications, and VB6 generally requires the older ones. As you can technically save 32-bit BMP-files, JPG-compressed BMP-files, RLE'd BMP-files and PNG-compressed BMP-files, but with the risk that no programme can actually deal with that. > > Yours faithfully > Stephan. that may be it,because although GIMP has more tools, paint seems to like older versions.the cool thing is paint can still open the new ones,it just saves them slightly diferent! :) now it doesn't realy haveanything to do with my orig. question. so i'll have to say: i conclude yes,but it would be worthless.and i should find a good tut on EO.
  15. ok thats weird.gimp saved it as a BMP and the tumb showed up in exporer(meaning that its not corrupt) but then i opened it in paint, saved it,then closed it and it worked. does paint have some kind of sig that it looks for in an image?
